- How much do videos cost ?
- How long does it take to produce a video
?
- How do I know I need video verses something else ?
- Which delivery method should I use ?
- How do I know I'm not wasting money on something I
don't need ?
- What should the return on my investment be for my
video ?
- How can using HDV as my only video producer make
future video projects cheaper ?
- How come you have a Demo Reel "CD-ROM" and not a
"DVD"?
This is a hard question to answer without knowing
everything involved. Its about the same as asking someone how much a car
costs (without describing the type or make of car).
We can give you a price range, but will you know where in that range your
project needs fall?
Contact us
to give us an idea of what you are trying to do so we can
give you a few estimates of what it would take to get it done.
This question is very similar to the first question in the
way its answered. However, we can tell you that HDV has not missed a
deadline to date. If we do not believe we can complete a project in an
agreed upon timeframe (before we start it), we will
recommend another course of action.
This is part of our initial discussions with all clients,
and is a very important question to the overall success of the
end goal. Video is almost always a good idea. But carefully
analyzing your needs, your expectations, and your potential audience will let us
know for sure if video is right for you.
Also a part of our initial discussions, delivery
mechanisms and execution is critical to getting your money's worth out of video
production. Internet delivery is almost always a given, but when to
duplicate what type of physical media really depends on factors such as how long
it takes for your video content to become stale, how many people or companies
you plan on delivering to, future plans, media cost, your budget, etc.
Well, its actually in OUR best interest to let you know, that in our opinion,
you may not get the return on investment you envision. What we don't want
to see is you loosing money on something we did for you. Since our
business is majority word-of-mouth, we want you to brag about us to all your
friends and colleges, not wish we never met! We are looking for repeat
business and referrals, not "quickie" jobs that don't produce a tangible and
measurable result.
We believe that you should at least double your money in one year. If
your video can't do that, then maybe another course of action is needed.
In the best cases, videos can make more than 10 times the money paid to produce
them in one year. Videos not only make money for you by helping sell products or
services, but by cutting costs as well. For instance, a well crafted set
of training videos can cut the size of a company's training staff by 50% or
more. Video, unlike an employee, is always there, always delivers a
consistent message (one that's provable in court), only gets paid once, never
calls in sick, and will continue to make or save money long after you've paid
for it.
Video used in past projects can and should become media used in future
projects. Every second of video used from a past project is one you won't
have to pay for again. As you or your company develop your own video
library, more and more of that video can be used over and over again. And
since HDV will be in possession of a master copy of all video shot (even if it
was unused), its yours and should be used to save you money on future projects.
When HDV builds your initial video, making small changes to modify products
and services costs much less since we are not only familiar with your project,
but we have access to all the media clips and your saved final edit. A
change could be as simple as acquiring the new clips, modifying the original
version in the original editor, and re-rendering the video.
Most people do not have a DVD player at their desk or in their office at
work, but everyone can play a CD-ROM. Due to the number of requests for
CD-ROM, we decided to make the Demo Reel available to everyone, not just those
with a DVD player handy.
